SHSAT Buddy Guidelines for Awesome Learners!
Hey everyone! We're super happy you're here to learn and have fun with our quizzes. To make sure SHSAT Buddy is a positive and awesome place for everyone, we've put together a few simple guidelines. Please read them with your parent or guardian so you know how to be a great member of our learning community!
1. Be Kind and Respectful
- Think before you type (if you can type anything!): Even though there's no direct chatting with other kids in the app, remember that your initials and leaderboard progress may be visible to others using the app. Choose a name that is appropriate and respectful.
- Celebrate everyone's progress: We're all here to learn at our own pace. Be happy for your friends when they do well on a quiz!
- No mean stuff: Don't try to be hurtful, rude, or make fun of others, even if it's just a joke. This includes in your initials or any way you might interact with the app's features or IRL (in real life).
2. Learn Honestly
- Do your best on the quizzes: The goal is to learn and improve. Try to answer honestly without looking up answers. That's how you'll really get better!
- Leaderboards are for fun competition: If you're on a leaderboard with friends, it's about seeing how you're progressing. Don't try to find ways to cheat or unfairly get a higher score. It's more fun and you learn more by playing fair!
3. Your Account is Yours (with your Parent's help!)
- Keep your account info safe: You do have a separate login, but remember that your participation is linked to your parent's account. Only your parent should manage your subscription.
- Let your parent manage things: If you want to change your name or invite a friend to the leaderboard, ask your parent to help you through their web account.
4. This App is for Learning
- Stay focused on the quizzes: While it's fun to see how you rank, remember the main purpose of SHSAT Buddy is to help you learn and practice.
- No spam or irrelevant stuff: Since you can't directly communicate, this isn't really an issue, but just keep in mind that the app is for quizzes and learning.
- Treat this app like your digital classroom—stay focused, try your best, and always act responsibly.
5. If You See Something, Say Something (to your Parent!)
Even though we've designed the app to be safe, if you ever see anything that makes you feel uncomfortable or that doesn't seem right—like an inappropriate nickname, suspicious leaderboard behavior, or something that upsets you—tell your parent or guardian right away. They can then let us know if needed.
Important Note for Kids
These guidelines are here to help everyone have a good experience on SHSAT Buddy. If you don't follow these rules, your parent might be asked to review your activity, and in some cases, your access to the app may be limited, temporarily paused, or permanently removed. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if safety or fairness is impacted.
Thanks for being an awesome learner and helping to keep SHSAT Buddy a great place to learn! Remember, SHSAT Buddy is here to help you practice and get ready for your test. It's a helpful tool, but getting into specialized schools depends on lots of things, so keep up the great work in all your studies!
